Now That Goodluck Has Shoes, What Next?
Is anyone hopeful that GEJ, given another opportunity to lead Nigeria, will lead the nation into something praiseworthy? The next four years must contribute significantly to moving Nigeria forward. The frustration with Nigeria is not that we are not like America or other developed nations. No. The main frustration is that the country is moving in the right direction, no significant forward movement that could raise hope of any sort. Nigerians deserve and desire change! An opportunity to change government may just offer that hope, should the current tide of PDP endless and reckless rule be overthrown at the ballot come 2015, there will be at least a hope that something different has happened and who knows, a new destination may reached and at least a new course charted.
For those who will want this government to continue, I wish them Goodluck, and it is ok to have different views of things or at least have different expectations. Some of us have a greater expectation of the country. We want a government that you can trust has the best interest of the nation at heart. We want someone intelligent enough to highlight for us what to expect and so that we can hold their words for it. Mr Jonathan has given his best and he needs to go home and enjoy his retirement. For us to wish him luck for another four years will too costly because we already know the best he has to offer. We need new suspense. We need to have new expectations. Period. So we need a new party, even if its not different, we need a new president even if he is not perfect.
